Determine fetus's risk of congenital conditions like Down syndrome

Not available at Chevy Chase or DC

Patient must be between 11 weeks, 3 days and 13 weeks 6 days pregnant

Patient will need to sign a waiver.
Prep: Drink 32 oz. of water 1 hour prior to your exam and hold your bladder.

This exam includes a blood draw.

Patient must be over 14 weeks pregnant.

Confirm: Does the physician order specify timeframe for the exam to be scheduled.

DC Location Notes:
  • Do NOT schedule after 2:30 PM
  • Do NOT schedule multiples/twins
Over 16 Weeks: No prep

Under 16 Weeks: Drink 32 oz. of water 1 hour prior to your exam and hold your bladder.
