
Breast Imaging: Scheduling Guide & Exam Codes
Purpose: This resource helps scheduling agents select the correct breast imaging exam based on patient-specific criteria, exam type, and scheduling rules.
Location Availability Summary:
- Most breast exam types are available at all locations
- Arlington and Bethesda do NOT perform Diagnostic Breast Studies
Diagnostic Exam Scheduling Rules:
- Male Patient (regardless of age): Diagnostic Mammogram first, Breast Ultrasound second
- Female Patient (age 30+): Diagnostic Mammogram first, Breast Ultrasound second
- If breast feeding, advise to pump 30 minutes prior to appointment)
- Female Patient (29 and under): Breast Ultrasound ONLY
